Jennifer Blomquist Files Lawsuit Against Homeowners

Jennifer Blomquist, Blomquist Builder’s Group, Inc., filed a lawsuit against myself and my husband for defamation, stating that I took the photos and videos on this website before closing.

You Can’t Make This Up!

  • March 7, 2018 – Easter is a few weeks away. Blomquist attempted to serve us with this lawsuit during our church’s Wednesday evening prayer service. The ushers provided the Process Server with our attorney’s information, and my attorney accepted service on March 8, 2018.
  • March 11, 2018 – On Sunday, three days after receiving a copy of the lawsuit, I returned home from church to a sinkhole at the corner of my garage.
  • March 23, 2018 – A Geotechnical Engineer was on-site to determine the cause of the sinkhole. Rather than address this issue, the Blomquist filed for an Emergency Hearing that same day, asking the court to have this website removed immediately. (more photos and videos here)
  • March 25, 2018 – My attorney received notice on Palm Sunday to appear in court within 48 hours. He contacted me that evening, and we arranged to attend the hearing with him. After being in court for an estimated two hours and Jennifer Blomquist stating her case for more than an hour, the judge denied her request.
  • April 20, 2018 – My attorney filed an answer and counterclaim against Blomquist Builders Group, Inc.

Text Messages and Photos Don’t Lie

  • November 16, 2018 After receiving Blomquist’s First Interrogatories in early October, my attorney sent Blomquist’s attorneys my and my husband’s answers to those questions, along with multiple engineering reports confirming the extreme structural damage to the house.
  • Blomquist also received photos (taken with a May 28 newspaper) showing many of the same images you’ve seen on this website. They also received copies of text messages (between Jennifer Blomquist and myself) refuting almost every statement she made in a signed affidavit submitted to the court for her emergency hearing.
  • December 19, 2018—The Superior Court of Cobb County ordered mediation for December 19, 2018. However, Blomquist’s attorneys filed a motion on December 11, 2018, to extend the discovery period. Cobb County requires mediation before a civil case can obtain a date on the calendar.

Jennifer Blomquist Signs over Assets to Her Husband

  • December 3, 2018—Within two weeks of receiving my engineering reports, photos, and text messages, Jennifer Blomquist, President of Blomquist Builders Group, signed Limited Warranty Deeds to Blomquist Holdings, Inc., with Blake Blomquist as Organizer.
  • Those Limited Warranty Deeds include 25 remaining lots in The Summit At Lost Mountain and 17 remaining lots at Somerset Oaks At Lost Mountain. However, they waited until January 7, 2019, to file the document with the court.
  • Blake and Jennifer Blomquist have been married for 20 years. Blake Blomquist is also the Registered Agent for Crestlawn Cemetery, LLC, Forest Hill Memorial Gardens Preneed Trustee, and College Park Cemetery Pre 2000 Perpetual Care Trust.

Blomquist E. Blake, as Successor Trustee, also has the following properties in The Summit at Lost Mountain.

  • Forest Hill Memorial Gardens Preneed Lot 11 and 16
  • College Park Cemetery Pre 2000 Perpetual Care Trust Lot 18
  • Crest Lawn Memorial Park Preneed Trust Lot 19, 20, and a house on Lot 50 for sale.

One Year Later

  • March 11, 2019— The sinkhole has been open for a year and only worsens. Last March, Jennifer admitted she was aware of the sinkhole during the emergency hearing.
  • I find it interesting that Jennifer Blomquist was in such a hurry to get this website removed by filing for an “emergency hearing” in March 2018. However, there is no emergency to resolve the structural failure of my house because of improper grading and uncompacted soil by Blomquist Builders Group.

Blomquist Files Motion to Dismiss Homeowner’s Claims

  • September 16, 2019Blomquist filed a motion to dismiss my counterclaim. Jennifer Blomquist states she did not breach the New Construction Contract and that my counterclaims are without merit and to “further delay harm.” Really? In less than a year from closing, a sinkhole opens up. Structural failure is evident in numerous professional engineering reports (which she has). And she claims her construction isn’t “negligent according to the standard of practice for new construction?” That is a terrifying thought for those seeking to build a home in Georgia.
  • October 17, 2019— We responded to Blomquist’s motion, which is currently under review by the Superior Court Judge assigned to the case.
  • February 23, 2020 It will be two years since Jennifer Blomquist filed a civil suit against us; we are still waiting for her and her attorneys to provide a date to settle this issue. Don’t miss this video of water pouring into the basement.
